Family Caregivers of BC hosts a number of caregiver support groups to support caregivers in B.C.
  • Caregiver Cafe Support Group (Virtual): Brings people together from across the province each month who share a mutual experience of caregiving for a family member or friend. This open group, available by registration, offers a safe and compassionate space for caregivers to share their challenges, insights, and experiences.
  • Working Caregivers Connect: BC’s Virtual Support Group: Invites working caregivers to join the monthly Peer Support Group. This open, registration-based group offers a space to connect with others balancing work and caregiving. Share experiences, get practical tips, and find emotional support from peers who understand the challenges you face.
  • Caregivers Insight Circle: Virtual Thematic Peer Support Group: Invites family and friend caregivers to join us for this bi-weekly virtual support group series, created as a safe and welcoming space to share experiences, reflect, and connect with others on similar caregiving paths. Held over six sessions, this group offers meaningful conversation on common caregiving challenges, from navigating healthcare and managing family dynamics to coping with emotional stress. Each session focuses on a different theme, with access to a curated library of related resources.
  • Navigating Elder Care: Virtual Support Group for Adult Caregivers: This virtual support group is held over a 6-week series and designed for adults who are navigating the complexities of caring for parents or elder family members, including uncles, aunts, and cousins. They explore how shifting caregiving roles affect communication and interpersonal connections, offering strategies to enhance dialogue and understanding. Participants can share their experiences in a supportive, peer-led environment, fostering community and mutual understanding.
  • Greater Victoria Caregiver Support Group: The Victoria Caregiver Support Group meets monthly, bringing together individuals who share the common experience of caregiving for a family member or friend. This gathering offers a reassuring space where caregivers can connect, find comfort, and remember they are not alone.
  • Saanich Peninsula Caregiver Support Group: The Saanich Peninsula Caregiver Support Group offers a safe space to connect with others who understand the challenges of caregiving. Share experiences, find comfort in knowing others are facing similar struggles, and explore solutions in a safe and supportive space.
  • Metchosin Caregiver Support Group: This is a new in-person caregiver support group within Western Communities. This monthly group brings caregivers together based on a mutual experience of caregiving for a family member or friend. This is a time for reassurance, where caregivers can realize they are not alone.
